The short version.
MajorLink respects your privacy. We collect only what's necessary to connect students with mentors. We don't sell your data. Sessions are 100% confidential. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. That's it.
What we collect.
Personal Info
Name, email address, and password (hashed and encrypted). Used to create and manage your MajorLink account.
Mentor Profile Data
University name, declared major, biography, profile photo, session topics, and availability. Displayed publicly so students can find the right mentor.
Payment Data
Processed securely via Stripe. We never store your full card details on our servers. Mentors provide payout info for session earnings.
Session & Booking Data
Records of booked sessions including date, time, status, and session notes. Stored to support booking history and platform features.
Reviews & Ratings
Star ratings and written reviews submitted by students after completed sessions. Associated with the mentor's public profile.
Usage Data
Technical data including IP addresses, browser type, and interaction metrics. Used to maintain platform stability and improve your experience.

Platform Operations
Running and improving MajorLink — booking management, scheduling, session tracking, and mentor matching.
Payments & Payouts
Processing student payments via Stripe Checkout ($40/30min, $80/1hr) and distributing earnings to mentors.
Search & Discovery
Enabling students to search and filter mentors by major, university, and rating to find the right match.
Communications
Booking confirmations, session reminders, review notifications, and account-related emails.
We don't sell your data. Period.

Your data is stored only as long as necessary to provide our services. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Video session privacy.
All mentorship sessions are live, real-time video calls. Here's what that means for your privacy:
Sessions are never recorded or stored by MajorLink.
Only the booked student and mentor can access the video room.
Video streams are handled through secure, encrypted infrastructure.
